Congregational Photo taken on December 23, 2007 Did you know that Living Waters Lutheran Church was nearly ten years in the making? From its early start as a Holy Spirit inspired dream of an individual family of First Lutheran Church, downtown Fargo, ND, to its current day status as a full congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, this new congregation has been prayed for by many and nurtured into existence. Thanks be to God for all the blessings, hard work and dedication which made possible this new congregation called Living Waters Lutheran Church, a mission outpost for Jesus Christ. At this new outpost for Christ, God’s Word has been heard over 30,000 times. The Lord’s Supper has been received over 25,000 times. We have been witnesses to God’s life giving promise of Holy Baptism for more than 88 new Christians. We have celebrated together with 29 couples pledging their vows of love and faithfulness to each other on their wedding day. We have mourned with families at the burial of their loved ones. 88 different children have been or currently are students of Living Waters Christian Preschool. Around 135 young people are currently attending Christian education classes, countless adults have participated in over 25 adult Christian education opportunities. God is at work changing lives. God’s mission to spread the Word is happening, one life at a time. On December 9, 2007, Living Waters Lutheran Church held its first official congregational meeting with its agenda to organize, elect a council, adopt a constitution and adopt a budget. On December 16, 2007, charter members became official members building the foundation on which the congregation will grow. On December 23, 2007, Living Waters Lutheran Church held its second official congregational meeting with its sole purpose to call the congregation’s first pastor. Living Waters Lutheran Church has a charter membership turned official baptized membership of 555 people from 186 family units. Average weekly worship attendance has grown to 284 people/week. This little congregation continues to grow and goes forth with God’s Word into the future that God has planned for it.
